The transition to more sustainable energy sources is a global priority today. In this sense, the construction of a multi-energy station in Les Sables-d'Olonne, in the Vendée department (85), is an innovative and promising project. This station, consisting of three canopies with a height of 7.5 m (24.5 ft) and a total length of 40 m (131 ft), represents a significant investment to promote low-carbon mobility and local green energy. GH Hervouet, a customer of Dlubal Software, was responsible for the entire project, including carpentry, roofing and cladding.
This project deals with structural evaluation against climatic loads and the utilization and seismic analysis of an existing telecommunications tower performed by SAQQARA INGENIERIA S.L., a customer of Dlubal Software. The structure is a lattice tower with a square section plan, made of steel cross-sections, with a radar and the necessary auxiliary equipment installed on it, including a spherical radome as a mimicry.
The Jewish community center, including a synagogue, is an all-round successful structure, fitting seamlessly into the cityscape of Regensburg, Germany. The connection of a community center in the northern part and a synagogue with a spherical dome in the southern part is something very special.
A developer project of 121 apartments in 2 identical buildings for rent with an area of 53,820 ft² each, designed by CIP ARQUITECTOS SL, was built by the construction company ACR in just 13 months of construction, including earthworks, foundations, and basement, using the industrialized Steel Framing system by AFCA Teccon, a customer of Dlubal Software.
A spectacular viewing platform visible from afar is the architectural highlight of Meixi International New City, a city expansion of Changsa, China. The conical double helix with a height of 98.5 ft provides a 360-degree view, including the Meixi reservoir, which covers an area of 4,305,564 ft².
The modular structure of the school will only remain at the present location for eight years. After this period, 36 timber modules, including the screw foundations, will be removed entirely and reconstructed at another location. Therefore, a completely new configuration of the floors and the ground plan design will be possible. The simple yet functional structure includes the architectural highlight of a front-facing flight of stairs constructed with timber truss girders.
A kindergarten, designed according to Building Information Modeling (BIM), is currently under construction in the Tyrolean municipality of Schwoich. The digital 3D model accompanies the construction project from design until completion.
The architectural planning was performed with Autodesk Revit. The structural model, including cross-sections, materials, loads, and so on, was exported to RFEM with the direct interface and designed there.
In June 2013, one of the world's highest timber lookout structures opened on the Pyramidenkogel, a mountain in Carinthia, Austria. The tower, including the spire, is 328 ft high. It has four accessible viewing platforms, one closed and three open, offering a breathtaking view over the Alps-Adriatic region and the lakes of Carinthia.
In January 2011, the Salvador Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg in Florida, USA, opened its doors to the public. It contains the largest collection of Dalí’s artwork outside Spain, including oil paintings, watercolors, drawings, graphics, photographs, and sculptures.
In autumn 2012, construction started in Wörgl, Austria for an apartment complex that was, by request of the building owner, completely planned and designed as a BIM model, including structural analysis, work planning, call for tenders, and so on.
For this purpose, software tools from the company bimm GmbH were used, by which architects, structural engineers, and building engineers could work together efficiently on a 3D model. RFEM and the Autodesk programs Revit Architecture and Revit Structure, to which Dlubal has a direct interface, served as the basic software for this project.
The project for designing a filter/dryer device, including agitator, required a complete stress and deformation analysis in RFEM. The complex modeling of the structure, which had 1,424 surfaces, 158 solids, and 425 members, represented a special design challenge.
The Ferrari World Theme Park on Yas Island, UAE, is an amusement and recreation park including a Formula 1 racing circuit, shopping mall, several luxury hotels, and two golf courses.
The gigantic freeform roof of Ferrari World is the largest spatial framework ever built.
A new boiler house has been built for the biomass power plant in Berlin-Neukölln, Germany.
The engineering office of Jürgen Ehlenz, a customer of Dlubal Software, was in charge of the structural analysis and design of the boiler house, including the connection design.
